Drawing on the findings from our national research, as well as discussions with hundreds of after school professionals, California Tomorrow has created user-friendly planning and assessment tools to help programs, researchers, policymakers, funders and technical assistance providers better understand and address the needs of the diverse youth they serve. The following toolkits are available for download and/or purchase, and can be used alone or in conjunction with California Tomorrow’s trainings, workshops and technical assistance. - Addressing Equity and Diversity: Tools for Change in After School and Youth Programs, a comprehensive toolkit for programs, including activities for self reflection, community mapping, program assessment, observation, staff dialogue, planning and more
- Pursuing the Promise Tools, a companion to our report of national research findings on equity and diversity, offering structured guides for assessment and dialogue among researchers, policy leaders, funders, training and technical assistance providers, and practitioners
- Our Roots, Our Future, a resource magazine for after school practitioners, including tools for personal reflection and program development on the theme of affirming young people’s cultures and languages
- 10 Tips for Affirming Diversity and Supporting Equity in New After School Programs, a set of guiding principles to help startup programs look at diversity, access, inclusion and equity as they design and begin their work.
California Tomorrow also offers customized tool development for specific programs, initiatives, or geographic regions or on specific diversity/equity topics. |
