By Jhumpa Bhattacharya, Laurie Olsen, JImena Quiroga & Jesus Solorio
Posted Mon, Aug 10th, 2009
Funded by the Northwest Area Foundation, this new toolkit is designed to empower rural Latino communities to draw upon their language and diverse cultures as social, political, and economic resources. It is meant to be used by community groups to help them explore the dynamics around bilingualism in their community, to reframe bilingualism as an asset, and to mobilize for action. A powerful resource for promoting community development and positive change, this toolkit can be adapted for use by other bilingual ethnic communities, both rural and urban.
